Welcome to Westford, an imaginary slice of 1960’s West Country main line railway.  Our Westford is a popular seaside town ‘somewhere in S. Devon’, close to Plymouth.

So, find a good lineside spot, make yourself comfortable and soak up the atmosphere.  It is a sunny Summer Saturday and the Holiday season is in full swing.  Holiday makers are flocking to the resorts of Devon and Cornwall, ‘The Cornish Riviera’.  Expresses from London, Birmingham and further afield are crammed into a very full timetable, with trains having to be held at approach signals while space is made for them in the congested platforms.

Station Pilots busy themselves shunting trains from arrival to departure platforms forming the next North bound trains.  During this activity, the train engines are brought on shed, turned and serviced ready for their next duty.

We hope you enjoy your visit to Westford, please look out for us at other shows. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask, preferably the fiddle yard operator, as he will have more time to talk to you.
