KINGSBRIDGE - 00
By Westford Modellers Group

The Kingsbridge Branch ran from the main line station at South Brent through picturesque South Devon countryside. The line had three intermediate stations, from South Brent they were, Avonwick, Gara Bridge (Mid way crossing point) and Loddiswell. A proposed extension to Salcombe was never built. Our model depicts the terminus station of Kingsbridge in the late 1950's – early 1960's and is built to scale as far as was possible. A few compromises had to be made, mainly in the positioning of items at baseboard jointsThe buildings are all scratch built mostly from Finecast plastic building sheets, some of the later buildings receiving 3D printed doors and windows. Track work is SMP 00 16.5mm gauge bullhead track with home made points. The points are operated by Fulgurex slow action point motors. Signals are all scratch built using Model Signal Engineering parts. They are all working and are operated by home made servo mechanisms. To make the layout more interesting for the viewers, we will be running a far more intense train service than actually operated on the branch, together with a selection of train types that never, to our knowledge, ran on the branch.
