NEWS UPDATE

Wednesday 30th April

Only 2 days until the doors open for this years 55th Bristol Model Railway Exhibition.

Please be aware of road works in the area.

Coming from Devon and Cornwall if you exit the M5 at Junction 16 for the A38 there is roadworks just the Thornbury side of the bridge where the A38 goes over the M4.

The next set of roadworks is by the Hyundai Garage where you would normally turn left onto the B4061 to go down Alveston Hill to the Leisure Centre. This junction is closed to all traffic turning left. If you stay on the A38 there is another set of roadworks where the diversion turns left into Grovesend Road. There are 4 way temporary traffic lights that were causing delays and tailbacks.

Once you get past these roadworks and onto Midland Way the roads are back to normal all the way to the Leisure Centre.

Coming up from Aust through the lanes the Junction from Down Road onto the B4061 is open as normal. That is the one by the Alveston Premier Inn. You can turn left here and go down Alveston Hill as normal to get to the Leisure Centre.

Leaving the Leisure Centre you can still turn left and go up Alveston Hill and back onto the A38 by the Hyundai Garage as that Junction is now one way out of Thornbury.

As far as we know anyone coming South from the M5 Junction 14 at Falfield will not be unduly affected by the roadworks other that when they turn right into Grovesend Road where the 4 way temporary traffic lights are.
